IN PATIENT SERVICES
Apollo behavioral Health Hospital provides Acute Psychiatric inpatient services in a 24/7 setting to patients 18 years of age or above at 7414 Sumrall Drive, Suite C, Baton Rouge, LA 70812. Following admission, each patient is thoroughly evaluated by our team of compassionate professionals, and an individualized treatment plan is created and implemented. The treatment plan will include one or more of the following options:
- Group Therapy:
A group therapy procedure in which a variety of approaches to therapy via reality therapy (rational-emotive, client centered, Gestalt, transactional analysis) may be designed to address the identified clinical problems of patients.
- Individual Counseling:
A process in which the therapist assists the individual to replace a problem behavior with a behavior that will allow him/her to function in a less restrictive setting or to reduce emotional difficulties through a variety of approaches both cognitive and cathartic in nature.
- Somatic Therapy:
Therapy which provides 24-hour acute nursing care; medical management; physical/speech/occupational therapy; special diets; and group modalities. It should be noted that psychiatric medication is prescribed in the doses that are necessary for management and control of the patient’s behavior and psychiatric disorder; however, at all times, attention will be directed toward utilization of the minimal dose required for response to treatment.
- Activities Therapy:
Individual recreational assessment and therapy; group therapy; music therapy; recreational activities; socialization and independent living skills development and leisure counseling and skills development.
- Social Services:
Psycho-social assessment; individual, group, and family therapy; discharge planning; patient transfer, referral and placement; and aftercare coordination.
- Psychological Services:
Staff or consultant utilization as needed in differential diagnosis, specialized psychological testing intervention.
- Psycho-educational Services:
Regularly scheduled lecture/group discussion provided by qualified staff on topics such as recognizing symptoms of illness, diagnosis, self-esteem, stress management, coping with depression, etc. and recurring weekly special focus-group sessions designed to enhance skills in such areas as problem solving, assertiveness, relaxation and irrational beliefs.
- Dietary Services:
Individual and group nutritional counseling and didactic lectures by a registered dietitian as indicated.
