Out Patient Services
Apollo behavioral Health Hospital provides Psychiatric Outpatient services in a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) settings at its location at 923 Executive Park Avenue, Suite 12, Baton Rouge, LA 70806. Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is a step down program from an in-patient hospitalization. PHP program also caters to patients who are chronically mentally ill or mentally disabled that would require in patient hospitalization in absence of this program structure. PHP is 4-5 hours in a day and 4-6 days in a week. Each patient will receive 3-4 therapy sessions in a day. Length of stay in the program varies from few weeks to few months based on individual patient needs. This program is structured to avoid hospitalization and maintain or improve the quality of life.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a step down program from PHP program. IOP program also caters to patients that are suffering from mental illness and requires therapy services besides medication management. IOP is 2-5 hours in a day and 1-3 days in a week. Each patient will receive 1-4 therapy sessions in a day. Length of stay in the program varies from few weeks to few months based on individual patient needs. This program is structured to maintain or improve the quality of life.
PHP and IOP services are provided Monday – Saturday between the hours of 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Following admission, each patient is thoroughly evaluated by our team of compassionate professionals, and an individualized treatment plan is created and implemented. The treatment plan will include one or more of the following services:
- Medication Management:
Psychiatrist examines the patient regularly and monitors the medications on regular basis.
A group therapy procedure in which a variety of approaches to therapy via reality therapy (rational-emotive, patient centered, Gestalt, transactional analysis) may be designed to address the identified clinical problems of patients.
- Individual Counseling:
A process in which the therapist assists the individual to replace a problem behavior with a behavior that will allow him/her to function in a less restrictive setting or to reduce emotional difficulties through a variety of approaches both cognitive and cathartic in nature.
- Family Counseling:
A process in which the therapist assists the individual patient and his family to help them understand the mental illness and how to cope up with the problems and symptoms.
- Activities Therapy:
Individual recreational assessment and therapy; group therapy; music therapy; recreational activities; socialization and independent living skills development and leisure counseling and skills development
- Social Services:
Psycho-social assessment; individual, group, and family therapy; discharge planning; .
- Disease Symptoms Education Services:
Regularly scheduled group discussion provided by qualified staff on topics such as recognizing symptoms of illness, diagnosis, self-esteem, stress management, coping with depression, etc. and recurring weekly special focus-group sessions designed to enhance skills in such areas as problem solving, assertiveness, relaxation and irrational beliefs.
- Medication Education Services:
Regularly scheduled group education sessions provided by qualified staff on topics such as the importance of taking medication as prescribed and at prescribed timings, side effects of medications, how to overcome the side effects and etc.
- Dietary Services:
Lunch is not part of the program, however courtesy Lunch is provided to patients. It is up to the individual patient’s choice to sign up for lunch indemnifying ABHH from any liability. ABHH will make reasonable accommodations to special diets.
- Transportation Services:
Transportation is not part of the program, however courtesy Transportation is provided to patients to and from their residence. It is up to the individual patient’s choice to sign up for transportation indemnifying ABHH from any liability.
